Alex Peroni "very lucky to be walking" after Formula 3 crash at Monza

Formula 3 driver Alex Peroni has admitted he is "very lucky to be walking" following his massive crash at the Italian Grand Prix last weekend.
Peroni went wide on lap 17 at the Parabolica and hit the sausage kerb which sent him high into the air, bizarrely and his car flipped. He was then taken out of the car and rushed to San Gerardo Hospital.
The 19-year-old Australian racing driver suffered a broken vertebrae, and fortunately for the youngster, he did not require surgery and was released from hospital in due course.
Peroni must now rest for 30-40 days, and he will now miss the final F3 race of the season at Sochi.
"I was knocked out during the crash so I don't remember it and that's why I guess I'm not that traumatised by (watching) it," Peroni said to Motorsport.com. "I'm very lucky to be walking. I'm just excited to be in the car as soon as possible.
"I'm very happy to be home obviously. It's a pretty bad way to end the season to have that crash, but I'm just looking as far ahead as I can."
