Max Verstappen feeling positive after Friday at the Russian Grand Prix
Max Verstappen has performed well at the Russian Grand Prix so far. The Red Bull driver finished FP1 in second place and topped the timesheet in FP2. The Dutch racer has been a little bit surprised with his pace and despite his five-place grid penalty, is optimistic with how he can perform.
“The last sector was good with us all day long: If you have a good feeling in the car, then the car really comes to life in the last part. That is positive, especially after the struggle in Singapore last week. I think we've taken a lot of steps in the right direction when it comes to finding the setup," Verstappen said to Sky Sports F1.
If Verstappen's pace continues then he could easily finish fastest during qualifying and when asked if this would be painful given his grid penalty the Dutchman said no.
"No, absolutely not. The whole day was positive today and let's hope the weather will stay the same on Saturday."
Verstappen will hope for a good qualifying session tomorrow and a good race on Sunday.
