McLaren's head of aerodynamics leaves team with possible move to Haas
McLaren will need to do some winter break recruiting after Head of Aerodynamics Guillaume Cattelani leaves the team. Cattelani took up the role back in 2014 but departed after the conclusion of the 2019 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
He won't be able to join a rival team just yet, but he has been linked to a move to Haas F1. The American team are currently struggling in that department after a season in which they couldn't understand the tyres and most upgrades turned out to weaken the performance of the car according to Romain Grosjean.
McLaren team boss Andreas Seidl suggested that there would be some reshuffling and restructuring at the Woking-based team when he first arrived. In just a few months, he has helped propel McLaren up the championship pecking order.
Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz both performed well in their first year together and their next goal will be to push Aston Martin Red Bull Racing for third place in the championship. In order to do that, the team will probably need an extra push from all programmes including the aero.
