Marko denies Vettel-rumours: ''We're very happy with Albon''

The flow of rumours around Sebastian Vettel is getting bigger and bigger. The German saw an opportunity for a seat disappear in 2021 with the return of Fernando Alonso at Renault, but many are now thinking of a return at Red Bull Racing.
Vettel to Red Bull
Vettel is allowed to leave Ferrari at the end of 2020, which is a surprise for many people. Helmut Marko still has good contact with Vettel and was surprised that he was expelled by Ferrari. Christian Horner even called it rude, how Ferrari had dealt with their old pupil.
Vettel wants to join a winning team as a four-time world champion, but Mercedes and Red Bull Racing don't keep the door wide open for him. Dietrich Mateschitz is said to want the German back, but Marko and Horner point to their current line-up. Where Horner leaves the door ajar, however, Marko is very direct.
Out of the sport
"We have no place for Vettel. We have a place for Albon and we're very happy with him. With Albon we also have a Thai driver and that for a company that is 51 percent Thai'', says Marko to Auto, Motor und Sport. Marko does have a tip for his former driver.
''Vettel has to take a year off and distance himself from the sport. From the outside you also have a much better overview of what's happening and maybe he likes family life so much that he's leaving the sport altogether'', concludes Marko who won four world titles at Red Bull Racing with Vettel.
