Wolff: "I hope Red Bull can fight for the victories"

For Toto Wolff, the disappointing results of Red Bull Racing should also have been noticed. Mercedes' team boss had expected his drivers to compete for the win with Max Verstappen and Alex Albon, but instead both cars from Racing Point are on the second row of the grid.
"I think it's a good thing. In recent years it has been said several times that it is impossible for a small team to qualify to the front of the grid, but now it has happened anyway", says Wolff to Motorsport.com. "It's proof that anyone who has a vision or an idea can make a qualitative leap".
With the right leadership, a lot can be achieved
"In fact, Racing Point is a team that can now fight for the podium or even victory. It shows that with the right leadership, the right decisions and the right funding it is possible to accelerate the development program. I think that it is a lesson for everyone to learn and I am happy to see that their project is going so well".
Wolff also wanted to say something about Red Bull. The team from Austria was disappointed in qualifying, after they had very high expectations of the weekend at the Hungaroring. "At the moment they are still our biggest opponents and I hope they can fight back tomorrow and fight for victory with us", Wolff concluded.
