Mercedes responds to criticism from Bottas: "Don't think we've slept"
Valtteri Bottas clearly showed after the British Grand Prix that he was not happy with Mercedes. According to the Finnish driver, his team had dropped stitches, making the victory impossible at the Silverstone circuit. Toto Wolff does not entirely agree with Bottas.
Bottas blames Mercedes for not letting him know that Verstappen was pushing on his hard tyres just before his pit stop. Moreover, Lewis Hamilton's teammate thought his last stint on the white compound was too long.
"I don't think we slept. But I accept his perspective. We have just had the slower car today, I think," Wolff is quoted by Motorsport-Magazin.com.
Mercedes to come back stronger
According to the team boss of the German race stable, the fact that Mercedes is now experiencing a bad day is not a big drama.
"We always say that the day when we lose is the day when we become stronger again and our challengers have to fear us," he said to Sky Sports.
