Leclerc hopes Ferrari can benefit from new rules

Charles Leclerc is pleased that Ferrari is likely to benefit from the new regulations on aerodynamics. Starting next season, a team that finishes lower in the constructors' championship will have more time to work on aerodynamics.
Regulations in favour
Ferrari is currently in sixth position among the manufacturers and it does not yet look as if the team will make any major strides for the rest of the season. This does mean that the team will have more time to tinker with aerodynamics than major competitors Mercedes and Red Bull Racing.
"I think the scope of this rule was to try and recalibrate a little bit and to help the teams that are struggling. And the fact is that we are struggling at the moment so this can obviously help us in a way," said Leclerc quoted by RaceFans.net.
Recovering from problems
Leclerc does admit that he would rather fight for the victories, as he could regularly do in 2019. "I would much prefer to be fighting higher already this season. But it is the way it is. So for now hopefully we can take a bit of advantage with that and try to recover what we are struggling with at the moment," concludes the Monegasque.
