After Romain Grosjean, Kevin Magnussen has now announced that he will leave Haas. This will put an end to the duo that have driven four seasons for Haas.
Magnussen to leave Haas
Magnussen made his debut in Formula 1 in 2014 for McLaren and, after a test role in 2015 and a place at Renault in 2016, finally ended up with the American team in 2017. Together with Romain Grosjean, Magnussen brought Haas to fifth place in 2018, but the last two seasons it has been far from the same fortunes.
''The Formula 1 season of 2020 will be my last year for Haas. I had a great time with the team and look back on a great adventure. Being part of a brand new team was a challenge that I enjoyed immensely and that gave me a lot of experience. That only makes me better as a driver," Magnussen said on Twitter.
''I want to thank Gene and Guenther and everyone on the team for their loyalty and trust in me over the past years. I will work on plans for the future and announce them soon. There are still six races to go this season and I will do everything I can to close this together," concluded the Dane.
