Sainz nuances Verstappen's statement: 'Also consider Hamilton'

In spite of the fact that the two drivers didn't always see eye to eye, Carlos Sainz now has to agree with Max Verstappen about the following: his claim that many drivers in a Mercedes car would take the win.
McLaren driver Sainz has shed light on the discussion started earlier by Verstappen with his statement that 90% of the drivers could win in a Mercedes car. Sainz appears to agree with the Dutchman for the most part but makes some nuance by including Lewis Hamilton in the comparison.
In a conversation with Motorsport.com, Sainz argues his point: "I agree with Max. 90% of the drivers on the grid could win races behind the wheel of the Mercedes and also take pole position, with the Mercedes. But I can also tell you that if you put many drivers on the grid next to Hamilton, with the same machine, many of them wouldn't be able to beat him."
Sainz praises Hamilton
Sainz then continues on to the class of Hamilton, who now seems certain of his seventh world title. "If Hamilton were taken off the grid, all the drivers now in F1 could win with Mercedes. This says a lot about what happens in F1 today, but also that Hamilton, even if he is behind the wheel of the best car, is one best drivers or the best driver and will remain so for a long time."
