Max Verstappen is deeply disappointed after qualifying in Turkey. He finally finished in second place, behind Lance Stroll.

The young Dutchman finally said the following, in front of the Ziggo Sport cameras: "It was just really bad on the intermediates in Q3. It was the same as in Q1, also on that rubber. There was quite a bit of water, but for example, the McLarens were a bit faster than we were on that compound, so you can't throw it on that. Yeah, and you had a bit of the opposite on the full wet tyres, where it was just really easy and good."

"I couldn't have made it"

"I just didn't have grip on those intermediates, they just didn't set in. I think I lost about seven-tenths of my lap before that with the rain tyres in turn 7.

"It really sucks. You're in the front all weekend and that's why I was so angry. We should have been on pole today. The calls from the race management were fine, they don't know how slippery it is, so it's always hard for them to judge when they're not in that car. Especially under these conditions. So I think they've done well now.

"You know, even if I have a great race tomorrow, I'm still bummed about qualifying. It just really sucks," said a disappointed Max Verstappen.
