With the announcement of Yuki Tsunoda, there are only two seats available for 2021 in Formula 1. Oddly enough, these are still among the two best teams in 2020: Mercedes and Red Bull Racing. Who will take those last two spots on the grid?

This year's Silly Season is crazier than ever with a lot of shifts within the current grid, but from the outside, a lot of drivers are also coming back into Formula 1. Tsunoda, Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher will make their F1 debut next season and Fernando Alonso will return to Renault.

Seats at Red Bull and Mercedes

This is, of course, at the expense of a number of drivers. For example, we will be saying goodbye to Kevin Magnussen, Romain Grosjean and Daniil Kvyat in 2021, and it remains to be seen whether Alexander Albon or Sergio Perez will be able to return in 2021. It is between those two drivers at Red Bull Racing, where Nico Hulkenberg seems miss out on a return.

The last free seat is at Mercedes, but it does not really seem free. Lewis Hamilton still hasn't signed up, but the chances of him, like his former rival, Nico Rosberg, running away from Mercedes like that, seem nil. A contract extension for the team is in the pipeline, the only question that remains is when will it be announced?
