Where Max Verstappen was labeled as the future world champion on his debut in 2015, and certainly after his victory in 2016, the Dutchman must still be patient. Max hopes to really compete in 2021.
Verstappen had the world at his feet when he won on his Red Bull Racing debut in 2016. He still had plenty of time to become the youngest world champion ever and it was no longer a question of whether, but when he would become world champion. Almost five years later, however, Verstappen is still waiting for his first chance at the world title.

Verstappen is not worried

''Of course I would like to fight for the championship in 2021, but we will see it first. I mean, I am still very young. Of course, people say that my time is passing quickly too, but I am very relaxed and know that this is part of life. I also know that you cannot force things in life. You have to stay calm,'' says the Dutchman to Autosport.com.
After his victory in Abu Dhabi, expectations are equally high for 2021, but Verstappen himself does not yet know what to expect. ''I think we can make a big step, but I also expect the others to do so. Hopefully our step will be just a bit bigger than the others,'' concludes the driver of Red Bull Racing.
