UPDATE | 2021 Portuguese GP officially confirmed
- GPblog.com
The Portuguese Grand Prix will return to the calendar in 2021. While this was already reported yesterday by Autosport.com, an official confirmation has now followed on the official channels of Formula 1. This means that the race at Portimao will definitively come to fill the open gap on the calendar left by Vietnam.
Portugal on F1 calendar
The 2021 Formula 1 calendar is still not completely filled, but on 11 February more will become clear. When F1 sits down with the teams, it will be made clear according to Autosport.com that the gap in the calendar on May 2, will be filled by the Portuguese Grand Prix. An official confirmation of this was released today, on the Formula1.com website.
With that, the complete 2021 calendar is full, although a lot of races still have question marks next to their names. Because the coronavirus is still far from being eradicated, street races will be very difficult to organise in 2021 as well and it still has to be seen if some races are feasible without admitting fans.
