The Grand Prix at the circuit of Imola was a true spectacle. Almost every driver had an adventure this afternoon and so it is not surprising that several of them had to report to the race officials. Amongst others Valtteri Bottas and George Russell.
They were the instigators of the biggest incident of the day, with the emphasis on 'they'. The race committee doesn't see either driver as the main culprit for this incident. Bottas, according to the FIA Statement Bottas had plenty of room left for Russell and didn't make any crazy moves either. Russell, in turn, couldn't do much about losing control of his car due to a wet spot on the tarmac.
Tsunoda too often off track
One driver who did get a penalty today was Yuki Tsunoda. He is the first victim of the new, stricter guidelines from the FIA regarding track limits. He left the track too many times during the race and will get a five second penalty and a penalty point on his license for doing so.
And Michael Masi is not done yet, as it has become clear that Lance Stroll has been given a five-second time penalty. The Canadian is said to have overtaken Pierre Gasly by cutting a section of Turn 11.
