Kimi Raikkonen is a true veteran of Formula 1 with 335 starts. He still seems to be enjoying his time in the sport, although it is not yet clear if he plans to stay beyond 2021. At the Azerbaijan Grand Prix he scored his first point of the season for Alfa Romeo, but he says it's not nearly good enough.

Despite best result of 2021 Raikkonen not satisfied yet

The 41-year-old Finn finished the race in tenth place, scoring his first point of the season. The result allowed him to move up to 15th in the championship standings. It is his best result of the season, but for the 2007 world champion it is not enough.

"Of course it was positive to get a point last time, but we expect much more from ourselves and from the car," Raikkonen said in a conversation with Speedweek. He doesn't expect things to look very different at the French Grand Prix. "The midfield will be very close. The differences are very small, and so the difference between a place in the top 10 and a place outside is also very small."

That's why, according to the Finn, it's important to be in good shape already from Friday. Teammate Giovinazzi, who scored his first point of the season in Monaco, agrees. "We know we have improved a lot and we need a normal weekend where we can show what we have. The Paul Ricard circuit should give us such a weekend," said the 27-year-old Italian.
