Different tyre compounds during the next two races in Austria
- GPblog.com
The next two races are both held at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. However, Pirelli will bring two different tyre compounds for both races.
By choosing two different formations, Pirelli hopes that this will provide different strategies. This should make the two races on the same circuit more exciting.
Different compounds in Spielberg
For the Styrian GP, the C2, C3 and C4 compound will be made available. For the Austrian GP, which will take place the week after, the C3, C4 and C5 compound will be available, which are the softest compounds. The first expectations are that we will see a one-stopper during the Steiermark GP. At the Austrian GP, there is a chance of a two-stop due to the use of the softest compounds.
The Red Bull Ring is a short circuit with only ten corners and height differences. Pirelli says this is not particularly demanding on the tyres. This allows the softest tyres to be used during the race.
