Horner sees opportunities after Hamilton's contract extension: 'Many exciting duels'

Lewis Hamilton's contract extension brings some clarity to the seat race taking place in F1 for 2022. The Mercedes driver has extended his contract for two years and will therefore continue to fight for titles over the next two years. At Red Bull Racing they are looking forward to the duels with the seven-time world champion.
"I think it's good for F1. Lewis has achieved an enormous amount. For him to be hanging around for a couple of years is good for the sport and hopefully we can have more titanic battles with him," Christian Horner explained in conversation with Sky Sports.
What will Red Bull look like in 2022?
At Red Bull, there's also still a seat vacancy for 2022. Top candidate seems to be Sergio Perez, who is performing well at Horner's team. The team boss therefore does not expect any big surprises and reassures the Mexican F1 fans.
"We're really happy with the job Checo is doing. We'll be sitting down with him in due course. But obviously there's a few races to get out of the way between now and the summer break. We're happy with the number of points he's hoovering up and the job he's doing. We see each other so often. I don't think it will be a long discussion, it's pretty straight forward. At the right time we'll have that chat", concludes Horner.
