Max Verstappen has won the Belgian Grand Prix in a special way. By driving two laps behind the safety car, which resulted in half points, the Dutchman drove to victory. After the announcement that the race would not take place, Verstappen let it be known that he regrets the fact that the race is cancelled.

"Yeah of course in hindsight it was very important to get pole position. It's a shame not to get proper laps. I said at 15:30 let's go.. the conditions were decent. But the visibility was low," Verstappen revealed after the race.

"It's a win but not how you want to win. The bigger winners are the fans for staying in the rain. We need to keep on pushing and keep on closing. I am confident that we have a good car and get the best out of it."
