Hamilton hits out at former teammates: 'No tricks'

Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas will drive together for the last time this season. The Finnish driver will leave for Alfa Romeo at the end of the year, while George Russell will join the Mercedes team. Hamilton is sorry to see Bottas leave the team.
The Finn has been driving a Mercedes car since 2017. Whereas Nico Rosberg rocked the team a season before by winning the world title, calm returned to Mercedes with Bottas. Hamilton also immediately noticed a good working relationship with his current teammate.
"We are in a sport where we try to win two different championships," he explained in conversation with Sky Italia. "We both try to win the Drivers’ title, but our job is to win the Constructors’ title too, so we have to work together. For the first time, I had a team-mate with whom I really communicated."
Hamilton has unique bond with Bottas
According to Hamilton, this is what makes the difference between Bottas and his previous teammates. "It had never happened with other drivers before. It’s something unique. And as a human being, it’s fantastic. Once we get off the track we talk like gentlemen. No tricks."
