Lewis Hamilton initially didn't want to go in for new intermediates, but eventually he had to. The Mercedes driver didn't agree because he gave up his third position, but according to Toto Wolff there was no other option. How does Christian Horner see it from Red Bull's point of view?

"I am not on their pit wall. So, it's difficult to comment," Horner told Sky Sports of what happened at Mercedes in the closing stages of the Turkish Grand Prix. "It sounded like Lewis overruled the team but difficult to say."

No pit stop impossible for Hamilton

The team boss of the Austrian racing stable continued his story "At one point he was going to get to the end and from what we could see those tyres were looking pretty dangerous. So, it was inevitable that he was going to pit. You could see Charles tyres overheating and then blistering."

Esteban Ocon was the only driver Sunday afternoon who managed to finish the race without changing rubber. The Alpine driver managed to complete 58 laps with a set of intermediates. It earned him a tenth place and thus one World Championship point.
