Horner fears for Mercedes: 'We're not even close'

Christian Horner can be satisfied with the result after the Turkish Grand Prix. Where Max Verstappen finished on the second place, Lewis Hamilton finished in fifth position. It resulted in Verstappen regaining the lead in the world championship. Nevertheless, the Red Bull Racing team boss has some concerns.
The speed of Mercedes in Turkey was impressive. During free practice the German team was faster than Red Bull in all sectors. "They have recently made a significant step forward with the top speed", Horner stated in conversation with Motorsport.com. "Before, we could still keep up with them by driving with a little less wing, but now we don't even come close."
On the other hand, Horner sees that his team also has advantages. For example, the Austrians remain calm, while Mercedes looks unsettled outwardly. "You see with all Mercedes teams that there are reliability issues or at least that they have to manage things. That's quite unusual for Mercedes," Horner said.
Mercedes bring Hamilton in
Hamilton raced in third place for a long time on Sunday afternoon, but his team forced him to come in for a tyre change in the closing stages of the race. As a result, he had to settle for fifth place, which caused some anger with Hamilton afterwards.
