It's Mick Schumacher's first season in Formula 1. The young German continues to wait for his first World Championship points at Haas F1. His best result of 2021 was twelfth place at the Hungarian Grand Prix. Despite this, at Ferrari they are very happy with Schumacher's progression.

The 22-year-old driver has been able to put in a relatively high number of miles, as he only has one DNF to his record.

"In his debut season in Formula 1, Mick confirms those qualities and values that have distinguished him throughout his still young career. Speed, determination, commitment and eagerness to learn: these are some of the characteristics that have brought him to the fore on his journey within our Academy and which he is also beginning to demonstrate at Haas," said Laurent Mekies as quoted by FormulaPassion.it.

The Haas F1 team has been by far the slowest team on the grid this year and only once has Schumacher manage to reach Q2 (in Turkey). The American formation has its sights set on 2022, so there were hardly any improvements to the car this year compared to next season. The two tokens that each team had at its disposal during the winter break were not used.

Schumacher and teammate Nikita Mazepin will at least hope for better times next year. Ferrari are at least hopeful that Schumacher will be able to do more next year and therefore learn even more as a driver. "We are confident that his growth will be even stronger in a team that shares his ambitions," added Ferrari's top executive.
