Perez quick on long runs: "But wasn't very happy with tyre degradation"

Sergio Perez looks back on a good first day in the United States. The 31-year-old driver was the fastest in the second free practice and also in the race simulation the speed of the RB16B was not bad at all.
"It was a good day," Perez commented to Sky Sports. "It's going to be very tight, it will all be about Saturday. We'll try to put everything together to get us in the mix for pole tomorrow. It was a promising second free practice, but there's still a lot to be done."
Long runs Red Bull positive
The Mexican continued, "There's some margin to improve our long-run pace. It was a positive Friday, but we will see tomorrow where we end up. It felt good, but I wasn't very happy with the tyre degradation, so there is room to improve and find more pace there."
At least from the Mercedes corner, there is stiff competition, but Perez doesn't want to mince words about it and focuses mainly on his own team. "They look strong," is all he wants to say about it.
