Hamilton dreams of racing in Africa

Up until 1993, Formula 1 was there 23 times. But since then, South Africa - and the entire continent of Africa - has been missing from the F1 calendar. Although next season's calendar already contains 23 races, for one person a race in South Africa could be added.
Warm place in his heart
"The place that I really feel is dear to my heart and most important for me is to get a race back in South Africa," Lewis Hamilton says not for the first time. To Motorsport.com the Englishman continues: "I think there is a great following out there and I think it would be great to be able to highlight just how beautiful the motherland is."
A return to South Africa is no utopia. For some time now there have been rumours that Formula 1 is considering a return. Yet there is no deal. Last season there was the intention to organise a Formula 1 festival. Due to the corona pandemic that plan was put on hold for the time being.
