George Russell will be driving for Mercedes next season, but believes that Red Bull Racing has the best car at its disposal this season. According to the British driver, it is therefore unbelievable that Mercedes are still competing in the world championship.
Max Verstappen has hadd a big lead over Hamilton on several occasions this season, but each time the seven-time world champion has managed to close the gap and keep the fight for the world title exciting. Russell thinks it's a great achievement of his future team.
Russell also puts the pressure on Verstappen, who is now 21 points ahead in the world championship. "Red Bull had to have this world championship already in," the Williams driver told Sky Sports. "It's clear that Red Bull have had the fastest car all season. It makes it incredible that Mercedes and Lewis can still fight for the world title."
Hamilton showed qualities in sprint race
Hamilton does not face an easy task during Sunday night's race. Due to a change in his combustion engine the British driver will start from tenth place. However, during the sprint race he showed that he is capable of a lot. Starting in 20th place, the Mercedes driver put in a strong performance and finished up in fifth.
