Remember a few years ago when there was no American race on the F1 calendar? And now we could have two within the next few years.
F1 has finally found an American home in Austin at the wonderfully flowing Circuit of the Americas and there was a lot of talk in the summer about a race in Miami being introduced for the 2019 season.
However, those plans have been put on the backburner for 2020, but the boss of the only American team on the grid in Haas F1, Gunther Steiner has said that he is excited to see another American track of the Formula One calendar soon.
The race in Austin, Texas is next up on the F1 calendar and it could see Lewis Hamilton secure his fifth world championship if he scores eight more points than Sebastian Vettel does.
Hamilton has won five of the six races and clearly loves the track, as does Steiner.
The Haas boss said: “I think the fan base is growing. It’s important for Formula One, but also for us because it’s our home grand prix. We’re all looking forward to it.
“It would be fantastic to have a second Formula One race in America. I think we will get there. It takes a little bit of time, but it will happen.”
