Red Bull Racing team boss
Christian Horner says
Adrian Newey will remain with the team for many years to come. Red Bull's technical director is responsible for the design of
Max Verstappen's championship cars. Reports recently surfaced that Newey might be leaving the team, but Horner is now putting an end to all rumours.
"His heart is still very much in Formula 1, and his commitment to the team is still great", Horner told
Sky Sports News.
"We don't talk about contracts or longevity of contracts, but he'll be here for many years to come." the 49-year-old Briton said.
Newey is important
"There's always going to be rumours in this paddock, that's Formula 1.", Horner said, slamming the rumours about Newey.
"He is such an important and popular part of our team," Horner added.
Besides his role in
F1, Newey has also taken the opportunity to collaborate on other Red Bull projects. For instance, he has also collaborated with the sailing team that is part of the Red Bull family. He also helped design championship-winning cars at
Williams and
McLaren before joining Red Bull in 2005.
