The GP of Abu Dhabi was for
Max Verstappen the way he likes it; a boring race, but a dominant win. It is true that the victory was not his most difficult in F1.
Sky Sports reporter
Ted Kravitz has been keeping a close eye on
Alexander Albon and Verstappen.
Verstappen dominant in Abu Dhabi
Red Bull Racing beat Mercedes for first place in Abu Dhabi. Verstappen took pole position on Saturday and was never under pressure from
Valtteri Bottas or
Lewis Hamilton on Sunday. In his
YouTube show, Kravitz says:
"Right, constructors for Red Bull, they're up one place to P2 of course. Max Verstapen won the race, Albon was fourth. A great start from Verstappen, he pulled out a two seconds lead. He did pit under the safety car with Mercedes and never looked like being caught by Bottas.
"It was a very enjoyable race, absolutely dominant."
Important victory for Honda
Although
Honda will still be there next year, Kravitz said it was important for Honda to win the last race of the season together with
Red Bull Racing. He said:
"Honda wins the race, it's a nice way to go out for Honda even though they will be here next year."You've got to say, it's the end of a sensational year for Verstappen, he has driven brilliantly. There is Albon, he has driven well too, he has been a credit to the team."
