Alexander Albon will be back in
Formula 1 next season. The Thai will race for
Williams where he has the unenviable task of replacing
George Russell. His first day at Grove was not without problems, however, he says in conversation with
Formule1.nl.
The driver traveled to the Grove HQ to meet the staff working there for the first time. While he tried hard to remember people's names, he suddenly felt cramped when he couldn't find his car keys. Fortunately for Albon, they were not far away.
"I lost my car keys on the first day, but we luckily recovered them, which was nice," he stressed in the interview. "I thought I had left them on the tray, so I was about to look in the garbage cans, but luckily they were just on the banister of the bench in the simulator room, so a trip to the garbage can was saved!"
Williams gives Albon second chance in Formula One
Albon made his debut at Toro Rosso in 2019, after which he earned a seat at
Red Bull Racing at lightning speed. However, alongside
Max Verstappen, he failed to live up to the high expectations, so the Austrian racing stable opted for
Sergio Perez in 2021.
