Formula 1 and F1 Academy have announced that from the 2024 season, all ten F1 teams will have one driver and their livery on one car in the all-female racing series. The final line-up of drivers for the 2024 season will be announced at a later date.

Wolff pleased with this development

"First and foremost, I want to thank the Formula 1 teams for their support and vision as we embark on this journey together," said Susie Wolff, Managing Director of F1 Academy in Formula 1's press release.

"This landmark moment not only demonstrates the depth of support for F1 Academy from across the F1 community but will inspire a whole generation of young girls to realise the opportunities both on and off track in motorsport," she continued.

Domenicali enthusiastic

Stefano Domenicali, president and CEO of Formula 1, added: "We created F1 Academy to bring about real and lasting change to ensure young female talent have the right system in place to follow and achieve their dreams."

This sounds great to me. As far as I understood, all teams would have a car, in the same colors and with the same name, driven by a female driver. It could be interesting to watch their race, in the F1 weekend, for a complete program. Does he drive and what is Max's sister like?

Driving an F1 car requires more than being a woman. Maybe the winner of that series, to do some training. That would be interesting to see for comparison.

Somehow, this reminds me of Bill Burr's "woman failed the WNBA" Hopefully it doesn't end up so though.. I don't think those liveries will change whatsoever. Important will be for the FIA to convince woman to start follow this series. Either it works or it won't. Please correct me if I'm wrong. It seems to me that this new series will be subsidized by the FIA. Is this correct?

Susie Wolff is pretty dynamic to pull this off! Well done to her! Looking forward to this new series, and it would be great to see a woman competing in F1 in the future!

Another try from FIA, nothing is changed, now they try to attract fans with F1 liveries. Well guess what, people don't care about liveries. They should ask simple questions from themselves. Who are the female drivers people know - Danica Patrick....and that's about it. Now they need to ask, why people know Danica, is it cause she's good? No. Is it cause she is beautiful? No. Is it cause she raced against male as equal? Yes. Think if somebody would do same kind of series but "male only". This person would be lynched alive. It's inequality in the name of equality.
