Fernando Alonso has admitted he isn’t concerned about missing the Indy 500 this summer. This is because of his busy schedule which includes his general F1 work and WEC campaign!
The Spaniard took part in the American race last year and was running well until he had to retire late on.
Alonso told Speedweek: “To be honest, I don’t even want to be there (Indy 500).
“Of course I will watch, follow every session and test, I have many friends there and maintain close contact with the engineers.
“I do miss being there, but currently it’s hard for me to add another race.”
Alonso won last weekend in Spa in his first WEC outing of the season. He is in pursuit of the triple crown having already won the Monaco Grand Prix.
