Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso have known each other for a long time, as they have been on the grid together many times before Alonso left Formula One in 2018. Last week they sat together in the press conference room and the Spaniard said there that he is looking forward to fighting for a title again.
Alonso decided to reminisce during the press conference. He talked about the Brazilian Grand Prix in 2007 where Kimi Raikkonen won the title. Both Alonso and Hamilton were unable to take the title that year as a result and so it is something that still concerns the 40-year-old driver to this day. "I always say it, that year we were both in a bad mood. We had a very competitive package, and so did Ferrari."
Now that Alonso can look back on it as a grown man he wants nothing more than to fight in a title fight and preferably with Lewis Hamilton. "Things change after 15 years, you grow up and see things differently. We both have good memories of it and hopefully, why not, we can fight for a championship again," Alonso told Marca.com.

Alonso would love to be engaged in a title fight

The Spaniard finds it difficult to pick a favourite in the title fight. He is mainly jealous of the two drivers. "It's impossible, they are very much matched. Of course from the outside it will be interesting, but I would also like to be in their situation."
