Lewis Hamilton will receive a five place grid penalty for the
Brazilian Grand Prix as he has received a new internal combustion engine. There have been several engine changes at Mercedes in recent weeks, but
Red Bull Racing do not expect to have to do any more engine changes.
Max Verstappen has been incredibly dominant in recent races and now has a 19 point lead over the seven-time world champion. It all looks very good for Red Bull. A grid penalty could still throw a spanner in the works, but
Christian Horner doesn't think that's necessary.
"All things look normal at the moment. Abnormal circumstances aside, we think we can make it to the end of this season with our engines," said the Brit at
Motorsport.com.
Silverstone crash causes fear
It seemed at the start of the season that Red Bull would be in trouble when it came to engine changes. The crash at Silverstone caused the team to have to do an engine change early in the season, but all seems to be well. "We lost one, of course, because of the crash at Silverstone, but the grid penalty we took in Sochi does put us back in a good position," said the team's president.
