Fernando Alonso, despite his age, is still very competitive in the current
Formula 1 season. Despite being 42 years old, the Spaniard still drives like a younger talent on the track. The
Aston Martin he drives does seem to be losing ground against teams such as
Ferrari,
McLaren and
Mercedes.
Alonso optimistic
"We will always find difficulties and some obstacles in the way. And it's up to us now how to deal with those and overcome them. The team is really clever in some of the approaches it is taking now, and even if we are struggling a little bit in this middle part of the year, it will make us stronger in the future. So I am quite optimistic," Alonso told the Chequered Flag podcast.
"I am happy but still obviously room to improve," he says. "Only the first six months with the team and still there is more to come," the Spaniard continued. For now, Alonso is third in the world championship, but he sees
Lewis Hamilton approaching to within one point.
