Fernando Alonso is set to start from the pitlane in the
Austrian Grand Prix later today, as
McLaren have opted to bolt on the new Renault MGU-K to his car, as well as a new front wing spec.
The Spaniard qualified in fourteenth which was less than ideal already, but there were positives to take from it, as Alonso probably would've made it to Q3 if he wouldn't have run wide on the last corner of his final hot lap.
Now, maybe because P13 (he moved up a spot because Leclerc changed his gearbox) isn't a good place to begin, McLaren have chosen to change everything up. Various F1 journalists have confirmed on Twitter that McLaren have indeed made these changes to the car, meaning that he'll have some overtaking to do. Let's just hope he won't end up shouting at his team over the radio like he did in France last week!
