Fernando Alonso has openly admitted that he's chasing the triple crown and even though he won't be able to compete in one of the three categories this year, he promises that he'll be back in the Indy500 some day.
The triple crown is, of course, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Monaco Grand Prix (or an F1 title for some) and the Indy500. The only person who has done this is the legendary Graham Hill. Alonso has the F1-part checked off already, and tried the Indy500 last year until his Honda-powered car rather typically broke down on him.
No Indy for Fernando then this year, as he'll be busy (hopefully) winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
"I'm fully focussing on Le Mans now," the Spaniard told Motorsport.com.
"It's sad that I can't do Indy this year.
"I have a lot of friends there and I follow everything they do.
"When I see them drive on tv, I instantly get an itch.
"I don't think I'll be able to drive it again this year but I'll definitely do it again."
