McLaren has won the battle for Oscar Piastri from Alpine F1. The young talent has signed a multi-year contract to drive for the team from Woking. Alpine will have to leave it at that and considers the case closed.

Alpine leaves it like this

Alpine had already said that they were not so keen on appointing Piastri after all that had happened. However, the team did indicate that they would go after the young Australian to claim any damages. In the latest press release from the French team, however, it seems the team is leaving it at that.

On Twitter Alpine stated: "BWT Alpine F1 thanks the Contract Recognition Board for Monday's meeting and acknowledges the decision that was taken. We consider the matter closed from our side and will announce our full 2023 line-up later. Our focus now is on the Dutch Grand Prix and securing points in our fight for P4 in the Constructors' Championship."
