In France, Mercedes introduced their second engine spec of this season. In Austria, the rest of the car faces a major upgrade which has been dubbed as their biggest of 2018.
Hamilton comfortably won the French Grand Prix last weekend as Mercedes look like can regain their dominance. Hamilton hopes that these upgrades will leave Red Bull and Ferrari "frightened" as F1 approaches the middle of the season.
"Up until now, we've not really had a lot of development parts on the car, so it's great to see," Hamilton said in an interview on planetF1.
"I'm aware that the guys have been working increasingly harder to try and make sure that we bring quality rather than quantity. It will undoubtedly help us in our battle to frighten the other guys."
Hamilton has won the Austrian Grand Prix just once. He seems excited about going out on to the Speilberg track and testing the new parts on the car.
"I'm excited because when you bolt something to the car - which we haven't really bolted to the car this year, it's just one of the first serious upgrades - it's great when you get out there," added the Brit.
"I'm looking forward to experiencing it."
The Mercedes upgrades include; new sidepods, bargeboards, a longer mirror stalk and a revised rear wing.
With the way Mercedes have dominated the last race in France, the upgrades should be enough to hold off their direct opponents in Austria as well. Whether this is actually true, though, remains to be seen.
