Maurizio Arrivabene is furious with Mercedes'
James Allison after
Ferrari 'foul play' accusations.
Mercedes' technical director Allison said that
Kimi Raikkonen's first-lap collision with
Lewis Hamilton in yesterday's British Grand Prix was either deliberate or out of pure incompetence.
These comments did not go down at all well with Ferrari boss Arrivabene.
Sebastian Vettel, who won the race, has also had his say on the Mercedes' boss comments.
Vettel described the claims as 'silly' and believes that incidents such as yesterday's collision happens when the race is so intense and close.
Arrivabene said that he was shocked with Allison's words.
"Who is incompetent? Kimi? Who is he to judge what the drivers are doing in the car?" Ferrari's boss said to Sky Italia.
"If he really said something like that, he should be ashamed!
"Allison worked at Maranello for many years, but now we are here in England teaching him to be a gentleman.
"I accept it from (Sky Italia pundit) Jacques Villeneuve because he was a driver. But this guy?"
Red Bull's team principal,
Christian Horner said that the comments come as a result of Ferrari and Mercedes' ongoing feud and fierce rivalry as they battle it out for the world championship.
"When you have that growing tension, speculation is unavoidable when these incidents occur," Horner said.
"But I believe it's nothing more than a racing incident.
"I would be surprised if there was anything else or if Kimi is that kind of driver."
