Aston Martin has become the first team to announce the schedule for the test days in Barcelona. The British racing stable is opting for the split-day approach.
From February 23 to 25 the first days of testing in Barcelona will commence. Normally a winter test, but officially this test is called a shakedown. Bahrain wanted to have the exclusive rights of the season opener, and with all new cars already in Barcelona, that became a bit tricky.
Therefore, the test days in Barcelona are only open to a few journalists, but cameras and fans are barred from the circuit. Live images as we are used to in recent years, you will not get from the circuit this year.
There will be action on the track itself and Aston Martin is already fully prepared. The AMR22 was already presented and the team has now shown who will be in action and when. Lance Stroll and Sebastian Vettel will split the days, with the German taking on the first and third mornings and Stroll the second morning. The afternoon will then be driven by their reserve driver, Nico Hulkenburg.
