Lando Norris was fastest during the second free practice session, closing the gap to
Max Verstappen after trailing in FP1. It looks set to be another positive weekend for
McLaren, with
Oscar Piastri in P2. The Dutchman rounded out the top three.
The FP2 session at the Belgium Grand Prix went down without any problems. Lando Norris finished in P1 with a lap time of 1:42.260. Oscar Piastri finished second behind his teammate, and Max Verstappen rounded off the Top 3 on Friday afternoon.
The two
Ferrari drivers finished in P4 and P5 respectively, in the order of
Charles Leclerc and
Carlos Sainz. The quicker Mercedes driver
George Russell finished in P6, and
Lewis Hamilton set the 10th fastest time. As Alpine are going through another change in leadership,
Esteban Ocon finished in P7.
