Max Verstappen's clattering rear wing was the talk of the day on Friday in Baku. There was no protest, something we did see in the 2021 title fight between Red Bull and Mercedes, but
Mattia Binotto is sure that the
FIA visited the team to check the rear wing.
"We've seen it. I'm pretty sure the FIA went there and made sure it won't happen again for the rest of the weekend. I'm quite happy to know that they've fixed it, because I think it's right that they've done that," the team boss told
Sky Sports.
The problem appears to have been resolved since the first free practice session, but Sky Sports was able to report that Red Bull had fitted the same rear wing as
Sergio Perez to Verstappen's car. During the remaining practice sessions, the Dutchman was not bothered by anything, so for now it is solved.
Binotto expects a challenge
Binotto expects Baku to be a tight challenge. The team boss thinks that Red Bull and
Ferrari will again be close together in terms of time. In any case, Binotto hopes for a better result than the
Monaco Grand Prix.
