McLaren has had an excellent
Formula 1 season so far. Where
Daniel Ricciardo is still looking for his ideal form,
Lando Norris already scored many points this season.
Zak Brown can therefore be satisfied with the team.
The
McLaren CEO is in the privileged position of having cars running in both
Formula 1 and
IndyCar. In America this season, Patricio O'Ward captured his first IndyCar victory in Texas. Brown is an excellent comparator of the two motor sports and thinks that Formula 1 and
IndyCar can learn a lot from each other in the future.
Formula 1 vs. IndyCar
Brown argues that the thrills in Formula One tend to be greater. "
If you look at the Formula One broadcasts from Sky and see how they tell the story using data - quite frankly an IndyCar race is often more spectacular - and then if you see how Formula One can show that a Formula One weekend is also very exciting," Brown stated in conversation with
Motorsport.com.
Conversely, Brown thinks Formula One would be wise to take a look at IndyCar as well. "At the same time, there are things like a helmet camera in the IndyCar, which is really fantastic and which Formula 1 should adopt as well. So I'm in the privileged position of seeing both and I think both sides should learn from each other."
