Max Verstappen won Sunday afternoon for the second time this season and is provisional leader in the world championship. During the race, there was again little to see during the
Monaco Grand Prix. Still,
Toto Wolff wants the race to be admired again next season.
It was not a good weekend for the Mercedes team. While
Valtteri Bottas had to retire early,
Lewis Hamilton couldn't get past
Pierre Gasly. The Englishman had to settle for seventh place and could not prevent Verstappen from having more points than himself for the time being.
Afterwards, the talk was again about the predictability in the race, but Wolff believes that
Formula 1 without Monaco is unimaginable. Moreover, the Mercedes team boss finds it hard to say what should be done differently.
"I don't know what you could change here, except to drive against the direction of travel. But that won't work either," he said in conversation with
Speedweek.
