An unfazed Oscar Piastri spoke about a failure with his water bottle during the Bahrain Grand Prix, hoping that it won't show up again at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix this weekend, otherwise it will be a "much bigger drama".
The Australian is known for his level-headedness and cool nature, both in and out of the cockpit. Whether it's about a victory, a DNF, or a minor car problem, such as the drinks bottle not working in the desert of Sakhir, there is very little panic.
The papaya-coloured car has been very impressive to start the season, with McLaren taking three wins from four races so far in 2025, with Piastri taking two of them. However, there was one minor fault during his win in Bahrain, with his water bottle in the car not functioning properly for the entire race.

Piastri hopes water will return in Saudi Arabia

Even with that minor mishap, Piastri won the race with a comfortable lead over George Russell in second place, without even really worrying much about the issues: "No, it didn’t work. I don’t know what happened. It worked on the lap to grid, and then when we plugged it in for the race, it was still working a little bit, but I had to draw the water out pretty forcefully, let’s say. And then once the race got underway, I couldn’t get any water through the straw. So that wasn’t ideal."
Piastri was not too fussed that the water did not work for him in Bahrain, but for the Grand Prix in Jeddah that is coming up next, the tough Jeddah Corniche Circuit and the sweltering heat will be very impactful on the drivers.
"Bahrain is not the most physical race of the year. If it had happened next week, it would have been a much bigger drama, but we'll make sure it's fixed," concluded Piastri.
