Carlos Sainz is not having an easy time at Ferrari. The Spaniard shows weekly that he has the same speed as his teammate Charles Leclerc, but cannot rake in the points. During the sprint race, Sainz finished in fourth place, although he was not happy with that himself.

His engineer told him over the radio after the race that P4 was a nice result. The Ferrari driver thought otherwise: "No, not at all. I warned you," he sounded stern. The one-time race winner was not happy with his pit stop. Like everyone else, Sainz wanted to stop for a set of intermediates after the race started.

Traffic jam in the pit lane

He fell back to seventh place after his pit stop, following a less successful pit stop by his team. The driver could not continue his way as it was blocked by other drivers in the pit lane, who were also coming in for their stop.

"I don't know if we were over-cautious or what, we need to look at it because it cannot be that the car behind that I'm boxing goes P1 and I go P7," the Ferrari man let GPblog and others record.

"The problem for us is being so early in the pitlane, by the time your pitstop's done, everyone's coming through so you cannot be launching the pitlane, which is a disadvantage. It's a huge position to be in by pure luck and we need to review because you can be disadvantaged but you can also be cautious and maybe we were both."
