Confidence in rule changes is high at F1 Group

Formula One teams must deal with some major rule changes in preseason testing. It should contribute to making the sport a more exciting period. Where sometimes the criticism is great, Rob Smedley trusts the decision of the FIA. He tells that to Formel1.de.
The head of data systems at The Formula One Group experienced up close in recent months how the teams were working to cope with the new regulations. Several changes to the cars should help make it easier for drivers to drive behind their predecessor, which is why the FIA expects more overtaking.
Although the plan sounds realistic, some teams are quite skeptical. According to them, the top teams always end up inventing something on new regulations and differences will remain present in Formula 1. The coming months will simply have to show whether the FIA's plan will actually have the impact it expects.

Confidence in the FIA is high

Smedley emphasises that it is logical that in 2022 not everything will be perfect right away, but according to him, Formula 1 fans can expect an even more exciting season. Last calendar year Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton put up an impressive fight until the last Grand Prix.
