Ferrari are still chasing down Red Bull Racing, but after McLaren have defeated the Austrian team at Miami Grand Prix and it has been announced that Adrian Newey leaves the team, many pundits and analysts are talking about who could chase down Max Verstappen for the title. One team tipped to be a challenger are Ferrari. David Coulthard talked about who would he rather see win a title: Lewis Hamilton or Charles Leclerc.
Former F1 driver David Coulthard cannot decide between the two possibilites. "I'm actually torn between wanting to see Lewis establish that eight title and wanting to see Charles (Leclerc) get a world championship," he said in the podcast he co-hosts, Formula for Success.
The Briton is also connected to the Monegasque driver's family, he explained. "I think the whole family, I saw Arthur the other night, his brother. His mom used to cut my hair. I think they're just a lovely family, and so understated when you consider he is one of the most famous race drivers in the world driving for one of the most famous teams in the world."
On the other hand, Pierre Casiraghi was clear with his answer. "I love Lewis' driving skills and I met him a few times, and always thought he was a nice guy. But I'm terribly sorry, but I'm going to have to be fully rooting for Charles. There would be no space for Lewis for me," said the nephew of the King of Monaco, Albert II.
Seeing a new champion on the sport will definitely be a lot more exciting. A driver like Charles, George, Lando or Piastry winning a WDC would definitely get the fans a lot more hyped up. Lando just winning a race, was already that exciting, so imagine if a talented young driver wins the WDC.
Schumi was my favorite driver so i like the idea he still has the record and i'm happy for Lewis too, ine of the greats. So I would love to see Charles win this title, he's may favorite driver right now with Max.
Like to see charles win a championship lewis had his chance of 8th wdcand we know lewis forms driped in last 2 years
It wouldn't bother me at all, all I want is Ferrari in a championship fight. Whether it's the first for Charles would be epic or lewis' 8th to stand on top, both are worthy of the shot at the title.
Absolutely the 8th for me, purely because its never been done before.
No. Purely because you are a biased Lewis fan. Give someone else a chance to win! Anyway, I don't even think this is going to be an issue, as I can't see Lewis beating Charles!
You excused yourself from this discussion, Ferrarifanatic, in 2025 you're a Haas fan. Do you have any comments for Haas please.
As a Haas fan, I am entitled give my opinion or comment on any thread on this blog! As you constantly comment on Horner and RB, and you being a Lewis/ Mercedes fan, it would suggest your comment reeks of hypocrisy!
My bad you're absolutely right "Haasfanatic" No. Purely because you are a biased Haas fan then ? Anyway, I don't even think this is going to be an issue, as I can't see Charles beating Lewis. What's you're driver lineup for 2025 at Haas ?
