Nyck de Vries is in full preparation for the new season. The Dutch driver is starting his first year of racing in
Formula 1 and intends to make it a great success with AlphaTauri. At the
Portimao circuit, De Vries therefore went hard at work this week.
Immediately after the final race in Abu Dhabi, his team already gave De Vries the opportunity to complete some test days. It was to help the driver get a good feeling with the car as soon as possible and take steps for next season.
This week, De Vries was allowed to step in for a rain tyre test with Pirelli. In Portugal, which hosts two Grand Prix in 2020 and 2021, he had to work hard to get the most out of his car. In addition to De Vries, Yuki Tsunoda also got to put in his mileage.
AlphaTauri hopeful about car
De Vries will continue his journey towards the new season early next calendar year. According to
Pierre Gasly, who has left for Alpine, AlphaTauri is building the best car ever in the team's history with the AT04. The formation is therefore said to be hopeful that it can compete at the front.
