Not long ago,
Mick Schumacher was predicted to have a bright future in
Formula 1. After an apprenticeship at Haas, the young German should eventually join
Ferrari, the team that had included him in its junior academy. But meanwhile, the prospect of a longer stay in
Formula 1 is fading.
According to rumours, Haas is not planning to renew Schumacher's expiring contract. At other teams - the few that still have a free cockpit - his name does not often drop. Moreover, his time at
Ferrari is also likely to come to an end. In short, after two seasons, the Schumacher name seems to be disappearing from Formula 1 (again).
Professional
Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula 1, would mind.
"I really hope Mick Schumacher also finds a cockpit in Formula 1 for next year. He deserves it," Domenicali stressed in an interview with
Spiegel.
"He has shown that he has the necessary professionalism. I am sure he will show his skills until the end of the season and the Schumacher name will remain in Formula 1."Earlier, Ross Brawn expressed positive views on Schumacher.
"Mick has improved tremendously this year. He has a good reference in Magnussen as a teammate and he is now at an important crossroads in his career," Brawn told
F1 Insider.
"He definitely deserves the next step in his career."
